Aubrey Kyle is an artist living on the western slope of Colorado with her family. The hotel featured in this story has been the focal point of her hometown since 1893. She visited the hotel every week growing up and later worked there for several years. Her novel incorporates many of her own personal experiences with the ghosts that inhabit the resort.
